The chairman of the pickle festival, Billy Liggan, told the Freeman that last years festival drew around 8,000 people and they expect to have about 110 vendors at this years festival.

He also said that this year the festival is going to be more about family farms while still providing a wide variety of products from all over, “We have migrated away from the large pickle producers to smaller independent pickle producers from Vermont, Delaware, Manhattan, and the Hudson Valley.”

Some of the things lined up for this year include, a competition for pickle producers for best product, a pickle triathlon that starts with a pickle eating contest, a pickle juice drinking competition, and pickle tossing contest.

The festival is set for November 20th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a $5 admission at the door.
