OCF Speedway Announcement Will Make Race Fans Happy

Dirt track fans in the Hudson Valley weren't sure how this year was going to play out. Early in the season one the most popular dirt tracks in the Northeast announced that there regular Saturday night races weren't going to be scheduled.

The Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown New York has always opened its racing season in mid-April but sadly in 2024 that was not the case. Instead, they announced that even though regular weekly racing would not be happening at the historic speedway they did have plans to have some features and Eastern States Weekend.

Orange County Fair Speedway Mentions a 2025 Race Season

As 2024 unfolded race organizers stuck to their word. They put together some exciting race nights, including a three-race series that drew the regular crowd and fan-favorite drivers. In addition to the specialty racing nights the speedway also held a fan favorite in October, Eastern States Weekend.

For a year that held no regular racing schedule, the Orange County Fair Speedway still managed to have an exciting season. Last week they took to social media to share end-of-year results and to thank everyone who came out to the Speedway in 2024.

Sadly, over the last two years, there has been talk about racing not returning to America's oldest continually running dirt track. This past July the Town of Wallkill even held a public hearing about the Future of the Speedway. Popular opinion is that racing should continue at the Orange County Fair Speedway, but it is a lot of work.

Fortunately for race fans along with the big Thanks You for making the limited 2024 season a big success it looks like they are promising something for 2025. In the social media post that was shared on Facebook on December 19th, along with a thank you to the fans they also said they are gearing up for 2025 and to stay tuned.

Another group that held events at the speedway in 2024, Burnout Nationals plans to return in 2025 with as many as 9 dates according to the schedule on their website. The first event is scheduled for March 29, 2025
