A 28-year-old corrections officer was busted smuggling cell phones into Eastern Correctional Facility in Napanoch, New York.

If you or someone you know has spent any time in prison/jail, you know that there are certain things that an inmate loses once they are sentenced to serve their time. Obviously, the loss of freedom is the main part of the punishment for whatever crime an inmate is convicted of, and that includes numerous things most of us take for granted living in the outside world, but inside a prison, they are extremely valuable.

There's a long list of items that are prohibited inside most prisons across New York State, and it includes many things you'd expect. Most electronic devices are prohibited as well, including cell phones, wireless phones, pagers, and laptop computers. If any of these items get smuggled into a facility, it's considered a crime, and the person responsible could face their own time behind bars.

That's exactly what happened to a 28-year-old former corrections officer from Bronx, New York.
