There are lots of ways to enjoy this beautiful fall weather in the Hudson Valley. You can go for a brisk boat ride on the Hudson River. You can hike the many trails and mountains that reach from the Catskills to the Berkshires to Bear Mountain. You can bike along the valley's country roads and rail trails that span Orange, Ulster and Dutchess Counties. But the best way to spend a beautiful fall day in the Hudson Valley is by heading out for a trail ride on horseback.

You don't need to be an experienced rider you just have to be brave enough to trust the wonderful horse that will take you on this fun filled fall experience. This is a great way for you to enjoy a stroll through the amazing hills and trails in the Hudson Valley. If you have a horse you are probably familiar with some of the great trails that are equine friendly which includes Minnewaska State Park. Only problem with these is you need a horse. So where do you go if you don't have a horse but you want to ride in the fall weather?

Pine Grove Dude Ranch - You have to call ahead to reserve a ride.

Mohonk Mountain House - Must make a reservation in advance.

Rocking Horse Ranch - May have to be a resort guest
