I am going to guess that after the weekend we just had, the last thing you're thinking about is what you are planning to do this Summer. Of course, thinking about warmer times in the Hudosn Valley could distract you from the winter weather we are experiencing.

In my opinion, it is never too early to start planning the warmer weather activities. Summer goes by quickly and without a plan, you could miss a lot of cool things. The New York Air Show has already been announced for this Summer and another annual event just posted a Save the Date.

New York Renaissance Faire Announces Its 2024 Calendar

Late last week the New York Renaissance Faire posted its dates for Summer and Fall 2024. Once again the Lords and Ladies plus the Queen and her Court, along with some fiery Knights will all be returning to the woods of Tuxedo New York for jousting and more. New York Renaissance Faire will run Saturdays and Sundays plus Labor Day starting on August 17.

They even have special events and theme weekends planned out for 2024. Opening weekend this year will be Pirate Weekend followed by Marketplace Weekend then Time Traveler Weekend. This year you can treat yourself to VIP Joust seating.

I make it a point to get to the Renaissance Faire each year. I don't go in costume, you don't have to. I always go in comfortable shoes because you are going to walk around a lot. I also always go hungry because they have some amazing food vendors and you have to have a Turkey leg or you are missing a big part of the tradition.

Tour New York Renaissance Faire

The New York Renaissance Faire is one of the Hudson Valley's most favorite Summer traditions. The excitement can not be captured in pictures but these photos will at least give you some idea of what to expect. Lords, Ladies and merriment of all kinds awaits for the person who attends this festival of fun and frolic as you can see in these photos taken by Hudson Valley photographer Chuck Merrihew.
