I feel like every time I open up social media I find out about another "National" type day. National Pancake Day, National Unfriend day and so on and so forth. However today, November 17th, is a "National" day I can get behind.

According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, today is National Take a Hike Day.

Luckily we live in one of the most beautiful states in the US and have a abundance of hiking options. I've recently gotten into hiking and have been to a few easier spots. Mount Beacon and Minnewaska are two of my favorite places to take a hike. I also just came across some really fun easy trails at Mills Mansion in Staatsburgh.

There are, of course, some more difficult trails like Breakneck in Cold Spring and Millbrook MountainWe're always looking for new places to conquer here at The Wolf. So head on over to our Facebook page and let us know where you favorite place to celebrate National Take a Hike Day is around the Hudson Valley.
