Popular Ice Cream Stand in the Hudson Valley Opening Soon

A fan favorite ice cream stand in Newburgh, New York, has announced they are opening soon.

There are a bunch of signs that signify that the warmer months have arrived in the Hudson Valley, right? The sounds of birds chirping, flowers beginning to bloom, and firing up the lawnmower are all things that make most of us feel energized, but there's another thing that REALLY signifies spring has sprung....ICE CREAM!

Yes, when ice cream stands across the Hudson Valley announce they are opening, that is the #1 sign spring has sprung.

Ice Cream Stand Opening in Newburgh, New York

One of the Hudson Valleys favorite places for ice cream has announced that they are prepared to open and cant wait to serve you! Mary Jane's Dairy Bar at 5334 Route 9W, Newburgh, NY announced the opening on social media saying, "MJ’s will open for the 2025 season on Friday March 28th!" To get the word out, they've also hung signs on each side of the new ice cream stand to let passersby know that they will be opening soon.

After driving past the other day and trying to grab a picture, which as you can see didn't turn out so good...LOL....

I decided to reach out to Mary Jane's owner, Margaret Gallo, to see if they have anything new planned for the 2025 ice cream season. Gallo, who we've talked to many times before, including last season when they announced they would be reopening after a 2023 accident where a car drove into the stand, forcing them to close, told us they are "busy working on some cool new flavors to launch!!!!"

She didn't reveal any of the flavors but did invite everyone to stop by for their first scoop, cone, or cup of the season on Friday, March 28th. She also shared that they have hired a new cake decorator,

"We are also super excited to have a new cake decorator joining our team! She makes the most amazing cakes!!! Jaime and I have worked together for over 25 years, and I’m super excited to have her here at MJ’s full time!!"
