Are you feeling lucky this Valentine's Day?

If you're looking for a last minute gift for the love of your life, a winning scratch-off ticket from the New York Lottery would be the perfect gift, right? I know I wouldn't be mad at getting a nice stack of scratchers this Valentines Day, but I wouldn't recommend just showing up at home tonight with a few scratch-offs and nothing else, I'm thinking your lady will be MAD!

If you do buy scratch offs, does where we buy the tickets matters? Are certain stores in the Hudson Valley lucky?

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, there have been nearly 25,000 winning New York Lottery tickets sold between 2012 and 2017 that had jackpots of at least $5,000 and some of the winning tickets were worth millions of dollars. Like back in July 2014, a $3 million scratch-off was hit at the Citgo Mart in New Paltz and according to the NY Lottery the biggest winner on an instant ticket this year for Ulster County happened at Stewart's on Broadway in Kingston were they sold a winning scratch-off worth $150,000.

Dutchess County has a little luck as well as a $10 million scratch-off was sold at Stewart's Shop in Poughkeepsie in January 2017. That gives Dutchess County nine $1 million prizes since 2012.

Who can forget how lucky Orange County was back in 2014 when a winning Mega Millions ticket was sold in Middletown worth $321 Million! Most recently a winning scratch off was sold at Speedway on Route 300 in Newburgh for a whopping $10 million!

Sullivan County has some luck as well as a winning Mega Millions ticket was sold back in 2015 at the South Fallsburgh food mart for $127 million and most recently Sullivan had a $50,000 winner in Powerball back in July.

You can get a look at all the winners from all of the Hudson Valley here and I hope that at some point this year we can add your big win to these lists. Good luck!
