A very popular local restaurant which has served the Hudson Valley for over 20 years mysteriously closed down.

On a Sunday just after New Year's Day, I decided to stop by Clearwater's Pizzeria in New Windsor to grab a couple of slices. To my surprise, the eatery was closed.

A quick Google search told me the restaurant should be open. Curiosity sprang, so I decided to call the pizza place and learned the phone number was no longer accepting messages.

I checked the restaurant's Facebook page, which also said the shop should be open. For the next week, I checked the place and every day it was closed.

I was hoping the owners were on vacation and the place would open soon. But, there wasn't a sign on the door noting a vacation, or a closure.

This week, I again checked the place and again it was closed. Again the phone number wasn't accepting messages. I again went to the restaurant's Facebook page looking for info. But to my surprise, I learned the Facebook page had been taken down.

I then spoke with the owner of a nearby business, who informed me the owners of Clearwater's Pizzeria decided to close the business.

Clearwater's Pizzeria had served the Hudson Valley for over 20 years. It was one of the longest-running pizzeria and Italian restaurants in the area, according to Clearwater's website which is still running.

The pizzeria was well reviewed. On Google, it has 4.3 stars out of 5. It has 5 stars out of 5 on Yelp.
