Mary Jane’s Dairy Bar Teams Up with Eggbert for a Delicious, Festive Makeover
Mary Janes Dairy Bar Extends Ice Cream Season
Some may argue that ice cream can only be enjoyed during the warmer months. To each their own, but we personally believe ice cream is delicious year-round, especially when it comes to the holiday season.
It looks like our friends at Mary Janes Dairy Bar in Newburgh are feeling the same this year.
Usually the Newburgh ice cream shop closes their doors towards the end of October for the season. However, this year things are a bit different.
Mary Janes will selling their ice cream at one of the most popular Hudson Valley holiday attractions.
Holiday Cheer: Mary Janes Dairy Bar Teams Up With Devitt's Nursery
On social media Mary Janes announced they're bringing their delicious ice cream to the iconic Devitt's Nursery in New Windsor.
Mary Janes will be on site weekends during Devitt's Eggbert Christmas on the Farm.
What kind of ice cream will Mary Jane's be providing? Festive ice cream of course! Ice Cream flavors include Lil Miss Eggclair's Delight, Eggbert's Eggnog, Cold Cocoa Ice Cream and Peppermint Christmas Bliss. For the Peppermint Christmas Bliss, MJ's Dairy Bar got a little assist from Halfsies Cookie Co. out of Marlboro. Mary Jane's writes they teamed up with Halfsies "to bring you the most magical holiday flavor of the season!" They take Halfsies "Christmas in Your Mouth" cookies with peppermint ice cream, chocolate crunchies, and festive sprinkles for "the ultimate festive treat!" Peppermint Christmas Bliss can only be found at Devitt's, now through Christmas. It looks SO good! Check it out:
What is an Eggbert?
Some may be asking themselves "What's an Eggbert Christmas celebration?"
Eggbert is a 2-foot tall, talking egg who was hatched in 1930 at Cornell University. Eggbert has traveled all across New York State, even making an appearance at the World Fair in 1933.
According to Devitt's Eggbert was named the Crowned Price of Christmas by NY Governor Thomas Dewey at the NYS Fair in 1953. Eggbert received a crown and still wears it to this day.
How Eggbert got to Devitt's in New Windsor "is still up for debate" but apparently Eggbert made his way to the Hudson Valley back in 1971. Check out Eggbert's history below as told by Devitt's:
