A Long Island man was arrested in Ulster County after police say he was in possession of a loaded handgun and drugs.

Nicholas R. Lasser, 22, of Sea Cliff, was pulled over on State Route 209 in the Town of Ulster for speeding. According to the Ulster Police Department, during the traffic stop Lasser was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and over 25 grams of marijuana.

Lasser was charged with 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, 5th-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and given a ticket for speeding.

Lasser was arraigned in Town of Hurley Justice Court remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu $5,000.00 cash bail or $25,000.00 secured bail bond. Lasser is to appear in the Town of Ulster Justice Court at a later date.
