Multi-Month Westchester County Burglary Investigation Ends With Two Arrests in Fishkill

Following a lengthy investigation for at least five gas station burglaries in Westchester County, two Bronx men were arrested in Fishkill following just that, another gas station burglary.

Two Wanted Burglary Suspects Arrested in Fishkill

The Bedford Police Department shared the news of the arrest of two men from the Bronx that were wanted for several (at least five) burglaries at gas stations within the Town of Bedford between September and November of 2023.

The arrests came on Saturday, December 23, following a multi-month investigation. It was reported that a vehicle and foot pursuit took place in Fishkill following a gas station burglary in town, where the Task Force was able to apprehend four male subjects.

Following the pursuit, several hours of interviews and investigation followed, and two of the four males were arrested for the Bedford gas station charges.

A total of 20 counts were charged to 21-year-old Berto Dominguez and 19-year-old Michael Cruz, both of the Bronx. Charges include: 'Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Conspiracy 5th Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd and 3rd Degrees, and Petit Larceny.'

Following the arrests, Dominguez and Cruz were arraigned in Bedford Town Court, released on their own recognizance, and then turned over to the Mount Pleasant Police Department and Putnam County Sheriff's office for additional charges.

Town of Bedford Police anticipate additional arrests as the investigation continues.

Task Force Created Following Bedford Gas Station Burglaries

Following a number of commercial burglaries in the Town of Bedford, and surrounding areas, a working task force was established with support from a number of agencies in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland Counties. The primary goal was to arrest, charge, and prosecute those responsible for the burglaries.

In the press release regarding the arrests that was shared on December 26th, the Bedford Police Department expressed their gratitude to the following agencies:  Mount Pleasant Police Department, Harrison Police Department, Town of Fishkill Police Department, Westchester County Police Department, New York State Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Westchester County District Attorney’s office.
