The July 4th weekend is just about underway and this is your reminder, don't drink and drive.

According to Hudson Valley News Network, Orange county officials have announced that they will be cracking down on impaired drivers over the Independence Day weekend.

Expect extra police sobriety checkpoints and extra patrols thru out Orange County from July 3 thru July 6, to help make sure that roadways are safe during Independence Day weekend. All of the added police presence is being funded by the Orange County Stop-DWI program.

Police told HVNN, that the Memorial Day DWI crackdown in Orange County resulted in 21 DWI/DWAI arrests by local and state police.

The is also an APP for that...Stop-DWI has made available a free mobile app called “Have A Plan” that can be downloaded to any smart phone. This app will give users timely and convenient resources to locate and call a taxi service, program a designated-driver list, and more. Plus the app will allow users to even report a suspected impaired driver.
