I think it's safe to say, the Hudson Valley was gutted when we learned that the Ulster County Fair and Dutchess County Fair would not be making appearances in 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

With that being said, we know that a lot of people are going to miss the greasy deliciousness of fair food. And who could forget those 4H milkshakes?

Well, a few Hudson Valley restaurants took this into consideration and decided it was time to bring fair food back to our neighborhood.

I can smell the fried dough as we speak.

Mill House Brewing Company in Poughkeepsie has been known for their speciality pop-up menus throughout quarantine. This time they're bringing it with some new spins on old fair classics.

Starting today (June 9th) you can order from the "This Ain't Fair Fare" menu. They have items like the Tilt-a-Whirl. No, it's not the ride. It's classic burger, sandwiched in between a glazed donut. Don't think they forgot about the desserts. S'more Perogies are on the menu, which is exactly what it sounds like. Deep fried perogies with chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers.

Of course, Mill House will be offering a spin-off of the 4H Milkshake with options like vanilla, black and white, and maple cream.

Simply Gourmet will also be offering their own Fair themed menu. They'll be whipping up fried Oreos, fried dough, fried chicken sandwiches and pulled pork. Plus, 10% of the proceeds that are collected will benefit Dutchess County 4H.

No matter where you choose you're getting a taste of the fair, without actually being there.

Simply Gourmet is offering its Fair Pop-Up menu starting Wednesday, June 10th. Weeknights from 4 pm-7 pm and Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm.

Mill House will offer their This Ain't Fair Fare menu from 3:30-8 pm until Friday, June 12.

What are you going to order? I'm thinking a full taste test is in order.
