We are just under a month away from one of my favorite foodie events of the year. And, yes, I know that technically Hudson Valley Restaurant week is more than a week and, yes, that it comes twice a year (thank goodness), but that's because it's so nice they run it twice.

Why is HVRW so amazing, you ask? Well, first -- thanks for asking. It's so great because it allows more people the opportunity to experience and enjoy the outstanding culinary creations right here in the Hudson Valley. We've seen countless restaurants and eateries pop up around the area in the last decade, some have even been around longer but due to various reasons we might always have the chance to enjoy.

For me and for many, cost is absolutely a factor, which can and will prevent many from enjoying some down right delicious meals, and that's a shame. Thankfully, HVRW is here to help, making dining at these creative culinary institutions a bit more affordable. Visit one of the over 200 restaurants participating and you could enjoy a three course lunch for just $20.95, or a four course dinner for just $29.95. A fraction of what you would normally pay at these outstanding eateries.

With so many restaurants to choose from there is sure to be something for everyone. But with that said I challenge you to step outside your comfort zone a little. You love Italian, ok no problem, enjoy something yummy but then why not venture out and try a cool little Gastro Pub or how about some Asian Fusion. Go on, get out there and test your taste barriers. After all it's a bargain so why not.
