
Ready to Cool Off? Cooler Weather Heading Towards New York State
Heat Wave Encompasses New York State
We shouldn't be surprised, because it is summer after all, but we've had a really hot summer.
Here in New York State we've been under several Heat Warnings throughout the summer months and have even been under what meteorologist call a Heat Dome.

A Heat Dome, according to The Weather Channel is "where a large area of high-pressure air gets trapped near the Earth's surface, causing extremely high temperatures and often leading to prolonged heat waves."
Officials across the state remind New Yorkers to beat the heat by staying hydrated and staying indoors if you can. If you have elderly adults in your life, it's recommended that you check up on them during these dangerous heat waves.
Needless to say, it's been a hot 2025. But it looks like things are about to cool off big time.
Cooler Weather Heading Towards NY in August
Things will cool down exponentially by the end of this week.
According to Chief Meteorologist at CBS6 Albany, Steve LaPointe "change to cooler for a bunch of days appears likely by the start of August." LaPointe adds, "Right now probabilities favor a period of cooler than average weather, which in early August means nice and pleasant."

A Peek at The Fall 2025 Forecast
Speaking of September, once the 'ber months come around the temperatures will be dropping too.
Recently, The Old Farmers Almanac released their predictions for the fall 2025 season. For the Northeast region the Old Farmers Almanac writes "Expect cooler and drier conditions than usual."
The average temperature through September will be around 59°F which is 2° below normal. Sounds chilly, grab your sweatshirts!
October could potentially be even colder this year, at least that's what The Old Farmers Almanac is telling us. According to their predictions October will average at 46°F which is 3° than normal.
They add that there will be some warm spells and showers, but to expect a chillier than normal fall season in the northeast.
