If you've been through some of our area airports, you may have noticed some projects being worked on, or ones you thought they should be working on. Today, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced $10 million in funding for capitol project improvements projects at airports throughout the state and four of those receiving a portion of these funds are here in the Hudson Valley.

This funding is from the Governor’s Aviation Capital Grant Program and will support safety, infrastructure, and economic development projects across New York. The monies were awarded to 20 applicants through a competitive solicitation process.

Dutchess County Airport will receive $889,650 for airport terminal building renovations, the Orange County Airport will have $882,000 for a corporate storage hangar at their facility, Warwick Municipal Airport in Orange County was awarded $23,400 for taxiway edge repair and resurfacing, and Sky Acres Airport in Dutchess County will receive $139,875 for installation of a self-service jet-a fueling station.

This investment will upgrade existing airport infrastructure, construct additional hangar space and help accommodate future passenger demands.
