Taking off on foot is never a good idea.

On Wednesday November 30th, Shyquan Miller, of Hudson New York, was pulled over by the New York State Police of Catskill for a traffic violation. The stop took place on State Route 23 in the Village of Catskill. When the officers pulled Miller over there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officers then asked Miller to exit the vehicle, as he got out of the vehicle Miller fled on foot. The police took off after him.

During the chase, Miller discarded evidence. After a brief struggle with police in the backyard of a home on Hudson Avenue in Catskill , Miller was taken into custody. Miller was in possession of heroin and marijuana. There was also a .38 caliber smith and Weston handgun found in the vehicle Miller abandoned.

Miller has a preliminary hearing this week on the 6th for several charges including Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Tampering with Evidence and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
