I hope everybody enjoyed the warm temps yesterday, because things are about to change and very quickly. Temps are going to drop, there will be snow and winds, in fact we're going to start hearing about wind chill factors again.

Here's the details. The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning in effect from 5 am through 7 pm tomorrow. This will impact the Mohawk Valley, Schoharie Valley, the Greater Capitol District, Eastern Catskills, the Mid-Hudson Valley, Taconics, Berkshires and Northwestern Connecticut. The winds will be from the northwest at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

This system will impact our area Sunday Morning and will remain very strong and gusty throughout the afternoon. The winds are expected to diminish late in the day into the evening. We could see downed trees and tree limbs, which could lead to scattered power outages. In addition, driving could be difficult for high profile vehicles and localized property damage is also possible.

In addition to the winds, we are also expecting rain to switch over to snow, accumulation amounts will vary depending on where you live in the Hudson Valley, some areas may only an inch or so, while some could see up to 5 inches of the white stuff.

Please exercise caution while travelling throughout the Hudson Valley this weekend and secure any items around your home.
