Dracula Is Coming to Bannerman Island for a Spooky Live Performance
Live Performance of Dracula on Bannerman Island
There's nothing like watching a live performance of music or a Broadway show. Now, take a live performance and make the stage in the middle of a historic island on the Hudson River.
Sounds like a unique experience, right?
Well you have the opportunity to experience exactly that as Bannerman Island Trust brings back a live performance of Dracula to Bannerman Island this September.
Visitors can see the one man show starring actor Duane Boutte September 16th, 17th, 20th, 23rd, and 25th. Tickets are on sale now at BannermanCastle.org.
Merchandise, food and refreshments will be sold separately on the island during the night of the show.
What to Expect at Dracula Live on Bannerman Island
The show itself will be performed outside in the front of the Bannerman Residence, which is the smaller castle on Bannerman Island.
Dracula follows the story of Jonathan Harker as he partakes on a journey to "deliver deeds to the infamous Count" at Castle Dracula. However, once he arrives Harker finds "himself being held captive by the eerie and cryptic Count, discovering horrific sights behind some of the castle’s closed doors."
Harker then comes to the conclusion that "Count Dracula is an undead creature of the night." That's when the adventure really begins.
Heading into spooky season here in the Hudson Valley, is there anything better than hearing scary stories at night in the middle of the Hudson River at an abandoned castle?
Sounds like the perfect, yet spooky, night out to us.
Is Bannerman Island Haunted?
Will you have to worry about real ghosts and goblins on Bannerman Island. Well...
There are some rumors about Bannerman Island and the haunted history behind it.

The Bannerman website explains that back in the day local believed the island was possessed. The website states:
Once an uninhabited place, accessible only by boat, it was considered haunted by some Indian tribes and thus became a refuge for those trying to escape them.
There was also a rumor that Bannerman was haunted by goblins. While there wasn't too much evidence to prove the rumor to be true, Bannerman has posted on social media several times that they don't have a goblin problem...
Unfortunately, that sounds like something someone with a goblin problem would say, so there's that.
