You never know what you might find in some old boxes. Here's a great example that happened in the Town of Wallkill on Tuesday.

According to the Times Herald Record, around 1 pm Tuesday, Police received a call from a resident at Grosvenor Mews that wanted to report found property.

Police respond to the location and told the Record that when they arrived the homeowner told them that she found a World War II era hand grenade and three handguns while going through a box in the garage of her home where she was storing items from a deceased relative, a World War II veteran.

That information prompted the officers to call in the bomb squad and to evacuate nearby neighbors and the homeowner.

A bomb technician from the state police removed the grenade and the guns from the residence without incident and the grenade was taken to range to be destroyed.
