Grammy’s: The Show Must Go On
Sunday night my favorite award show will be on CBS at 8 PM. The 2020 Grammy Awards will be full of surprises. The fact that you can't turn on the news in the last 24 hours and not hear all the accusations flying around is adding to the suspense. I have to say I hope all of this talk about artists being over looked is not accurate but in the meantime I want to cast my votes for my favorites in the country categories.
Best Country Solo Performance
For new vocal or instrumental solo country recordings - I am tossed up between Ashley McBride and Willie Nelson
- ALL YOUR’N
Tyler Childers - GIRL GOIN' NOWHERE
Ashley McBryde - RIDE ME BACK HOME
Willie Nelson - GOD'S COUNTRY
Blake Shelton - BRING MY FLOWERS NOW
Tanya Tucker
Best Country Duo/Group Performance
For new vocal or instrumental duo/group or collaborative country recordings - This award should be all Little Big Town but I would be okay with the Brooks and Dunn Luke Combs combo walking away with the trophy.
- BRAND NEW MAN
Brooks & Dunn With Luke Combs - I DON'T REMEMBER ME (BEFORE YOU)
Brothers Osborne - SPEECHLESS
Dan + Shay - THE DAUGHTERS
Little Big Town - COMMON
Maren Morris Featuring Brandi Carlile
Best Country Song
A Songwriter(s) Award. A song is eligible if it was first released or if it first achieved prominence during the Eligibility Year. (Artist names appear in parentheses.) Singles or Tracks only - I am giving this one to Eric Church. I hope the Grammys do too.
- BRING MY FLOWERS NOW
Brandi Carlile, Phil Hanseroth, Tim Hanseroth & Tanya Tucker, songwriters (Tanya Tucker) - GIRL GOIN' NOWHERE
Jeremy Bussey & Ashley McBryde, songwriters (Ashley McBryde) - IT ALL COMES OUT IN THE WASH
Miranda Lambert, Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna & Liz Rose, songwriters (Miranda Lambert) - SOME OF IT
Eric Church, Clint Daniels, Jeff Hyde & Bobby Pinson, songwriters (Eric Church) - SPEECHLESS
Shay Mooney, Jordan Reynolds, Dan Smyers & Laura Veltz, songwriters (Dan + Shay)

For albums containing at least 51% playing time of new country recordings - I am all in on Interstate Gospel for this award.
