Just about every restaurant has their own form of this yummy dip or is it a spread? Today September 16th is National Guacamole Day. Even if you aren't a fan of the Avocado you probably still enjoy a big scoop of guacamole. The lime juice and tomatoes along with the onions and seasonings bring this little green green super food to a whole new space.

Put it in a bowl for chips. Spread it on bread or use it as a topping on chicken or beef. Guacamole is the perfect condiment. It takes adding an avocado to your recipe up to culinary level your friend will appreciate. Plus the avocado is packed with good fats and nutrients so it may also be doing you a health favor and adding flavor.

According to what I found at the National Calendars online home this dish originate with the Aztecs in Mexico. Now you can enjoy watch it being made right in front of you at just about any of your favorite Mexican restaurants in the Hudson Valley. If you prefer to make your own there are plenty of recipes to follow.
