Police are hoping that this arrest will end a rash of car break ins.

According to the Times Herald Record, Village of Ellenville police have one man in custody after a 7 month long investigation into car robberies.

Police told the Record that they have arrested Timothy D. Hutcherson, 31, of Ellenville, and charged him with fourth degree grand larceny, a felony, petty larceny, a misdemeanor and trespass, a violation.

Hutcherson was arrested on Friday at 4:30 a.m. as someone saw him breaking into a car on North Main Street.

After he was taken into police custody, he was arraigned in court and sent to the Ulster County Jail with no bail. He is due back in Village court on Tuesday.

Great job by police.

There is nothing worse than that feeling after you realize that your car has been robbed.

I remember back about 5 or 6 years ago when my truck was broken into in my driveway. They got away with a Mac computer, cash DJ equipment and more. As my wife said, "You'll never make the mistake of leaving valuables in your truck again," and I still don't today.

I hope that this never happens to you.
