Eleven Year Old Cancer Patient Gets Taylor Swift’s Attention and More

Naomi Oakes is only 11 years old and is in the fight of her life. Naomi was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on June 25. When she and her family were told that she wouldn't be able to leave the hospital for at least nine months, there were of course tears but also the sad realization that Naomi wouldn't be able to go to the Taylor Swift concert in August in Phoenix.

Naomi had received the tickets as a Christmas present and was going to have to miss it. Her family and friends decided that to cheer Naomi up they would try and get Taylor's attention with a video using #TeamNaomi, especially since Naomi's theme song for her battle with Leukemia is Taylor's hit 'Bad Blood'. How cool would it be if Taylor mentioned it on social media and maybe, just maybe, some donations to help cover the medical costs would come in.

Not only did they get Taylor's attention and support, but Taylor has donated $50,000 to help cover some of Naomi's medical expenses, and she wrote a note.

What a wonderful gift for a little girl fighting such an awful disease. Way to go Taylor!
