Dutchess County Singer on New Season of The Voice

The Hudson Valley will have someone to cheer for on season 26 of NBC's The Voice!

A new season of NBC's The Voice kicks off this month and one Hudson Valley singer will be showcasing her amazing voice hoping to make it big in the music industry.

Alison Elena announced the news on her Facebook page saying she auditioned for the new season of the singing competition and encouraged fans to tune in for the season premiere on Thursday, September 23rd on NBC,

"Excited to announce I auditioned for season 26 of The Voice!! Tune in September 23 for the premiere!"

 

How NBC's The Voice Works

If you've never watched The Voice, the singing competition has a variety of rounds that each singer goes through if they are selected by a coach during the blind auditions. This season there will be four coaches including Voice veterans country megastar Reba McIntyre, and Gwen Stefani. They will be joined by new coaches Michael Bublé and hip hop icon Snoop Dogg who will each choose their respective teams starting Sept. 23rd with the blind auditions (chair turning).

Once each coach has their team they will compete in "Battle Rounds, "Knockouts, Playoffs, and Live Performance Shows" according to NBC. Each season coaches can choose to randomly use blocks, steals, and saves to quickly change the course of the competition.

Wappinger, New York Celebrates Singer

Soon after Alison made the announcement on social media her hometown of Wappinger, NY passed along well wishes saying, "The Town of Wappinger is proud to announce that one of our residents Alison Elena Peritikos of Chelsea is a contestant on The Voice!"

Wappinger Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini said,

“Please join me in congratulating and supporting Wappinger resident Alison Elena on being recognized for her incredible talents by being selected to be on The Voice! We are #WappingerProud and wish you all the best in your journey!"
