Do You Button Up or Button Down?

Yes this could be the dumbest debate ever but it's what we do. LOL!

As I was getting dressed last night to hit the town, I decided that I was going to wear a nice button down shirt and as I was putting it on I realized that I might be a little different when it comes to the whole buttoning process.

I button my shirts from the top and make my way down the shirt, so I am officially a top to bottom button guy. Jess said that she buttons up and thinks most ladies button up because of the lady parts. She also said that she calls the shirt a button down. Is it a button up or a button down?
