Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to send my Grandkids on the Catskill Mountain Railroad for a wonderful themed ride. They had a blast, of course, after all, it was a train ride and they had ice cream.

If they live closer, we would be back on that train again for something just as exciting, and that feels like a once-in-a-lifetime experience for kids who love dinosaurs. That's right, you have one more weekend to book your ride on the Dinosaur Train.

The Dinosaur Express is what it is called, and it is leaving this weekend out of Kingston, New York. Young and old are invited to put on their explorer's hat and take a ride on a train to the Jurassic Period.

One of the highlights of this train ride is the presence of roaming dinosaurs and friendly dinosaur hunters onboard. Let your little ones’ imaginations run wild as they encounter these prehistoric creatures during the journey and at our Dinosaur Park. (via Catskill Mountain Railroad Website)

This themed train ride, along with others, offers young riders an exciting ride back to when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Young and old can appreciate the entertainment. Unfortunately, if you want to go, you have to hurry to get tickets because the last three days of the Dinosaur Express are this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

What Types Of Rides Do They Have On The Catskill Mountain Railroad

Other adventures on the Catskill Mountain Railroad include the Ice Cream Train, where riders get to take a ride along the tracks and enjoy an ice cream treat, the Fall Foliage Express, which comes up later this year, and the Pumpkin Express for some Halloween fun.

The Catskill Mountain Railroad leaves from the Westbrook Land Station in the Kingston Plaza. Train trips and times vary. It is always a good idea to purchase your tickets ahead of time. I found it easy to do all my planning online.

I even had to postpone my trip, and the Catskill Mountain Railroad was very accommodating. Luckily, they have many ice cream train opportunities, so I was able to easily reschedule.
