Dateline Revisits New Berlin, NY Murder Case With New Information

It's been 10 years, but a small-town-murder-love-triangle still has people talking. Dateline recently released a new episode that focuses on the murder of Jennifer Ramsaran of New Berlin, New York.

What Happened to Jennifer Ramsaran?

According to Dateline, Jennifer Ramsaran was a devoted mother of 3 living a fairly normal life in New Berlin, New York in Chenango County. The 36-year-old was killed in 2013 and her husband Remy Ramsaran quickly became the lead suspect.

On December 11th, 2012, Jen Ramsaran disappeared. Her husband Remy called the police after his wife had allegedly gone shopping near Syracuse and had not returned. A few days later, Remy found his wife's phone, and a week after that, Jennifer's father found her missing van.

2 months later Jennifer's body was found and her death was ruled a homicide.

While Remy was the first to call police and show concern that his wife was missing, some of his statement didn't line up with evidence police found.

Then, investigators found out that Remy was having an affair with one of Ramsaran's family friends.

Remy was later arrested in the death of his wife Jennifer on a charge of second-degree murder. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

New Information in New Berlin, NY Murder Case

The decades-old murder case was given the Dateline spotlight in which we learn that Remy, who has always claimed his innocence, recently pleaded guilty to the charges.

This was after Remy and his original lawyer, Gilberto Garcia, parted ways after it was discovered that Garcia's, "conduct hadn’t amounted to ineffective assistance of counsel."

Remy told Dateline Reporter Andrea Canning that he remains innocent even though he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

Remy said "I had the perfect life, I had a wife. Had a girlfriend. I have kids. I have everything anyone would want. The worst thing to have ever happened to me is Jen going missing. Absolutely worst thing."

The accused also alleged that Remy, Jen, and the family friend Remy had an affair with would have threesomes, which is new information to the case.
