What is Going On at One New Paltz Brewery

You may have noticed that a few businesses around New Paltz are on winter break. At this time of year, it is common for some Hudson Valley restaurants to take a well-earned break after the holidays.

I noticed this week when heading over the Ridge on 44/55 in Gardiner that The Mountain Brauhaus Restaurant seemed to be closed and when I checked in with them they said they are on vacation until Wednesday, January 22nd.

Wallkill View Farm Market is closed until Spring, which for them means sometime in March just in time for us to get things from their green house.

Is Clemson Bros. Brewery in New Paltz Closed for Good?

A few popular restaurants and businesses have closed their doors for a short winter break. However, one New Paltz restaurant and bar is going through a transformation over the next few months. You may have heard Clemson Bros. Brewery at the Gilded Otter is closed. Some rumored that it has closed for good but that is misinformation.

Many people have been speculating about what may be going on at Clemson Bros. Brewery so I decided to take a peek for myself. I did discover that they are currently closed and from what I could see from the outside it appeared like work inside was being done.

Clemson Bros. Brewery Will Reopen in the Spring of 2025

I found a note on the door that stated: Coming Soon!!! A New Business and that they were closed for renovations. It also said if you have questions to please call and there was a phone number on the door, so I took the number down and made a call this past Monday to get the scoop.

It turns out that Clemson Bros. Brewery in New Paltz is currently closed.

They are working on some new things and hope to be re-opened by the end of March.

In an email that I have shared below, Kevan for Clemson Bros. Brewery stated:

We would like to inform you that, in our ongoing commitment to improving your experience at our restaurant and within the community, we will be temporarily closing our New Paltz location. Our projected reopening date is March 2025.

During this time, we will be working diligently to enhance our facility, products, and services to better serve you in the future. While we’re closed, we encourage you to visit our Middletown location.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding and continued support.

We know what this property means to the community and the value it holds, so we are committed to make sure that everyone in this community can enjoy the land and the views. We look forward to welcoming you back to our newly renovated space with a fresh start with more outdoor space so people can hang out and enjoy the beautiful views.

So we have something new to look forward to at Clemson Bros. Brewery later this year. I for one can't wait to see what they have planned.
