Growing up I had an elementary school teacher who loved Calvin and Hobbs and Dr. Seuss. Reading all of those classics made learning fun and brought a different kind of energy to the classroom.

At 31, I'm still talking about that teacher and those books so needless to say, these were lessons and memories I'll never forget from my childhood.

Today is Read Across America Day in celebration of Dr. Seuss's 116th Birthday. Students across the Hudson Valley and the U.S. will be celebrating in style with fun projects and of course, reading the Dr. Seuss classics.

If you want to celebrate and need a refresher course, here are 5 classic Dr. Seuss books you can read today.
