Can You Spot the Hudson Valley Location in the New ‘Materialists’ Trailer?

3 of the hottest names in film and television are heading to the big screen this June and the trailer has fans buzzing.

What's The Materialists All About?

Maybe it's just me, but whenever I see an A24 production I always assume it's going to be some kind of horror or thriller film. However, from what I gather...Materialists is the complete opposite.

IMDB gives this quick plot synopsis: "A matchmaker's lucrative business is complicated when she falls into a toxic love triangle that threatens her clients." The film, which is written and directed by Celine Song, is filed under a romantic comedy.

Johnson takes on the role of Matchmaker Lucy who has an excellent success rate when it comes to matching couples. From the trailer, which was just released this week, we see that Lucy might be great at setting up couples, but can't figure it out her own romantic life.

Did A24's Materialists Film in the Hudson Valley?

As we all know, the Hudson Valley has been one of the most popular places for movie and tv productions to film over the last few years.

If you pay close attention to the trailer above you may see parts of the Hudson Valley in the background.

According to Hudson Valley Film Commission, the outdoor wedding scene was filmed somewhere in the Hudson Valley. Do you recognize it?

Hudson Valley Film Commission wrote on Facebook:

There's only a few shots of the Hudson Valley location starting around 1:56. The scene will feature 80 local background actors at a site secured by location manager John Hutchinson.

Tina Fey Talks Filming in The Hudson Valley

In the fall of 2024 writer, actress and comedian filmed her new series Four Seasons in Dutchess County.

The series will air on Netflix and stars Fey along side Steve Carrell, and Will Forte.

During Fey’s appearance on the podcast Good Hang, hosted by Amy Poehler, she spoke about her time filming in the region.

Fey told Poehler she worked really hard to make sure she created a comfortable, safe environment for the actors and behind the scenes staff.

We’re not sure of a release date yet, but we’ll keep an eye out!
