Delivery Driver Tears Up a Hudson Valley Lawn
What would you do if a delivery driver did this to your lawn?
At one time or another, we have all done some shopping online, and in most cases, once we find the item we were searching for, we'll click on it to place the order and wait for it to be delivered to our house. It's an exercise that most of us have done a hundred times before, with most of the ordering happening on Amazon, but what happens when the delivery driver destroys a portion of a customer's lawn when delivering your merchandise?
Amazon is Everywhere in the Hudson Valley
Amazon is far and away the most popular online shopping platform, which is why the Amazon delivery truck has become one of the most popular vehicles seen driving on Hudson Valley roads. Most neighborhoods will see the blueish Amazon truck go zipping up and down the street a couple of times a day. Unfortunately, there are times when the normal routine delivery can turn into a disaster.
Delivery Driver Destroys Lawn
That's exactly what happened to a homeowner in the Hudson Valley recently when the Amazon delivery person parked on their lawn to make a delivery and left behind quite a mess. The homeowner who posted the pictures on Facebook explained the damage simply saying, "Thanks, Amazon". As you can see in the picture above, it looks like the driver pulled off the driveway onto the homeowner's lawn and, in doing so, left behind deep tire tracks on the wet lawn.

We reached out to the homeowner after seeing the pictures, and they told us that they captured the lawn damage on their home security system and said that the Amazon driver "wasn't comfortable with the delivery truck". He also said he believes that all Amazon drivers should have a CDL, but "there's such a demand, there's no way to fill these jobs with talented drivers".
Will Amazon Cover Damages?
Soon after posting the photos, friends began to comment that if the damage was caused by an Amazon driver, Amazon would pay to repair the lawn. Amazon offers an "A-to-Z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury" according to its website. It's unclear if the guarantee covers lawn damage, but the guarantee does offer customers the opportunity to file a claim where a defective product purchased on Amazon.com causes property damage or personal injury.

Has this ever happened to you or someone you know? Did Amazon cover the repair costs? Let us know through our station app above, and we may use your story for a future article.
