Villa Roma Resort Temporarily Closed In Callicoon, NY

A popular resort in Sullivan County, NY, has temporarily closed its doors while they work to fix an issue with its electrical service.

Residents and guests planning to spend time at Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon have been informed that the resort has temporarily closed while crews work to resolve an electrical issue. Management has said that it is working directly with NYSEG to get service restored and return the resort to normal operations.

In a statement, Villa Roma apologized to its hotel guests, timeshare owners, employees, and the wider Villa Roma community for the disruption. The resort says its ownership and management teams are working "urgently and directly" with NYSEG to resolve the situation and have electrical service restored as quickly as possible.

And it sounds like this has been a pretty significant disruption.

According to Villa Roma, some guests and timeshare owners were required to leave the property because of the interruption in service. Management acknowledged the disappointment and uncertainty the situation has caused and asked everyone to bear with the resort while it works through what it described as an "exceptional situation."

Villa Roma said that arrangements are actively being made to deal with the situation and that resolving the issue is currently the resort's highest priority.

When Will Villa Roma Reopen?

According to the resort's website, Villa Roma Resort is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. "We look forward to welcoming our guests, timeshare owners, and community back to Villa Roma on Tuesday," the resort said.

The resort ended its statement by thanking guests, owners and the community for their patience and understanding during the unexpected disruption.
