Just a tragic story of lives cut way to short.

According to the Daily Freeman, it all happened on Wednesday in Saugerties.

Saugerties Police told the Freeman that four men in their 20's were killed Wednesday when the car in which they were passengers went down an embankment of more than 100 feet, struck a house and landed on its roof on Dock Street.

The young men that perished were identified as, Dante Crump, 22, of Kingston, Adam McQueen, 22, of Ulster Park, Kaireem Meeks Jr., 24, of Kingston, and Jante Clark, 26, of Kingston.

The driver of the car, Meredith McSpirit survived the crash and was flown to Albany Medical Center with a non-life-threatening spinal fracture.

Saugerties Chief Joseph Sinagra told the Freeman, McSpirit was driving a 2002 Honda Accord southbound on Washington Avenue when she failed to make the right turn onto Montgomery Street where Washington ends. The car instead went straight, across a private driveway and down the embankment. The drop down the embankment was about 110 feet.

The car struck the house at 76 Dock St. before coming to rest, upside down, on the road in front of the house.
