A Wappingers teenager and 2 other men from Dutchess County were arrested in connection with a teenager being shot several times.

On April 9 around 10:00 p.m., New York State Police were sent to a reported assault in the Village of Wappingers Falls. An investigation revealed that a 17-year-old male victim met up with 20-year-old Marquett L. Ryans in a wooded area off of Wenliss Terrace.

Following a physical altercation, police say Ryans shot the victim several times in the head with a BB gun. Ryans was charged with 2nd-degree assault, a Class D felony.

Officials say a 17-year-old from Wappingers and Latif S. Reid-Ogarro, 22, of Wappingers Falls were involved in the altercation that injured the victim. Both were charged with 3rd-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor.

Ryans was arraigned in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to reappear in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court on April 28.

The 17-year-old suspect was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Village of Wappinger Falls Court at a later date.

Reid-Ogarro was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,500 bond.

State Police were assisted by Mobile Life EMS and the Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department.
