Gerrit Cole, Carlos Rodón Set for Renegades Games April 23–24

Hudson Valley Renegades Kickoff 2026 Season

Baseball season is in full swing and we get to enjoy it, locally, with the Hudson Valley Renegades.

Their season kicked off at Heritage Financial Field in Wappingers Falls, New York back on April 7th, 2026.

For those who may not be familiar, the Hudson Valley Renegades are a Minor League baseball team and the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.

Former Renegades like Anthony Volpe and Jason Dominguez currently play for the Bronx Bombers. Sometimes when MLB players get injured and are working their way back to the diamond, they'll play at for their minor league teams.

2 New York Yankee pitchers are heading to Wappingers Falls to play for the Renegades on rehab assignment.

Gerrit Cole To Take The Mound For The Hudson Valley Renegades

The Hudson Valley Renegades 2026 season just got a little more interesting.

In early 2025, Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole suffered an elbow injury during pre-season play. Unfortunately, Cole had to undergo Tommy John surgery which forced him to miss the 2025 season and the beginning of the 2026 season.

Gerrit Cole is on his way to recovery, but before he can hit the mound in The Bronx he's has to get a few tosses in in the Hudson Valley.

Save the date: April 23rd, 2026. Gerrit Cole will take the mound at  Heritage Financial Field in Wappingers Falls when the Renegades take on the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Yankees Pitcher Carlos Rodon Also Set to Pitch for The Renegades

After Gerrit Cole's time at Heritage Financial Field, yet another Yankee will take the mound.

Carlos Rodon is also scheduled to pitch for the Hudson Valley Renegades. Rodon will pitch during the game against the Brooklyn Cyclones on Friday April 24th, 2026.

That game also happens to be a firework game, where fans will get to enjoy a free firework show after the last out.

Rodon is also nursing an elbow injury, he underwent surgery to remove bone spurs in October 2025 according to ESPN.

While on the road to recovery for the 2026 season, Rodon experienced right hamstring tightness at the end of March.
