Soon, but not yet is the word from a local strawberry farm. If you love Strawberries and are hoping to get them local your have to hold on a bit longer. This past week Dressel Farms got us an update via their Facebook page concerning their strawberry crop. If you are a "pick your own" strawberry kind of person you are still going to have to wait a few weeks. Good news it looks like this years crop will be yummy when it is ready to be picked.

So this weekend with the great weather we are going to experience in the Hudson Valley you are going to have to find something else to do with the family and put the strawberry picking on the calendar for a few weeks from now. Dressel expects to have the road stand stocked with strawberries around June 6th but the "pick your own" berries aren't expected to be ready until around June 12th.

The delay is going to give you time to gather all those classic strawberry recipes. From Shortcake to Salad dressing or even a cocktail recipe or two you want to be ready when the berries are ready to pick.
