Each month The Wolf teams up with Mid Hudson Pump and MHA of Dutchess County to select one of our area first responders out of the hundreds who have been nominated to be inducted into the Wolf Den of Heroes.

Take a moment tell us about a first responder you know. Nominate them to be inducted into the Wolf Den of Heroes. Tell us their story and why you believe they deserve to be recognized for their efforts in our community. If you have yet to nominate someone be sure to do it after you read more about our November 2024 Wolf Den of Heroes Inductee: Ralph Davis.

Wolf Den Inductee for November: Ralph Davis Napanoch Fire Department

Ralph was nominated by his wife Alyson Davis for his 30 years of service as a volunteer firefighter and how he has served as District Chief. Alyson's nomination is below:

My hero also happens to be my husband and my 2 daughters dad. My husband/hero has been a volunteer firefighter for 30 years. For more than half of that he has been the district chief. Besides having a full time job working for Wawarsing Highway Department, he is always ready and willing to help anyone in need. Late night fire calls he is up and ready to go even though he has to be to work at 6. He will fight a fire and watch over all of his brothers and sisters at the fire call and then go to work after the call is done. Myself and our daughters are so beyond proud of him and all he has done for our community as well as our family. Our youngest daughter has even followed in his footsteps and is a volunteer firefighter also. Thank you so much for doing this. Sadly our volunteers don't get enough recognition and the definitely should. (via Alyson Davis Wolf Den Nomination)

If you want to nominate a first responder in your life, fill out the form on our website. Be sure to take a minute to share some information about the First Responder you are nominating and please feel free to send us a picture or two.

We are excited to announce that we will be able to continue honoring our first responders in 2025.

The Wolf Den of Heroes Celebrates First Responders in Our Community

For the last several years here at The Wolf, we've been trying to figure out a way to put a spotlight on the first responders in our community. They do so much for us and leave their families at a moment's notice to help out our neighbors in need.

We decided the least we could do is give them the spotlight on Wakin' Up With CJ and Jess and social media as a 'thank you' for all they do for their communities.

Then, our partners at Mental Health America Dutchess County and Mid Hudson Pump jumped on board with their support and because of them we will be able to honor more people in 2025. MHA of Dutchess County and Mid Hudson Pump make it possible for us to give the responder who becomes the Wolf Den Inductee a $250 check as a way of saying thank you.

Country Star Homes Devastated By Fire

At least two artists on this list of country star home fires were better for it, professionally. One legend used the tragedy to inspire greatness, while a second newcomer actually wrote his first No. 1 hit about the blaze.

Over a dozen country stars have watched their homes go up in flames. Here are their stories.
