We are excited to announce the Wolf Den of Heroes Inductee for May 2026. This is the fifth first responder to be inducted into the Wolf Den of Heroes this year. Selected from the nominations received each month, we are excited to honor this month's hero. Each month, the Wolf looks forward to celebrating a first responder who serves our community.

The Wolf has teamed up with Mid Hudson Pump CompanyMHA of Dutchess County, and Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law to select one of our area's first responders to be inducted into the Wolf Den of Heroes from among everyone who has been nominated to date. This month, we will honor someone who has served his community for more than a decade.

According to his nomination submitted by Elisha Midyette, which you can read in its entirety below, Albert Rossi is an extremely dedicated team member and a role model at Patterson Fire Department No. 1. This past March, Albert played an important role in helping rescue a dog who had fallen down a cliff at Quaker Brook Waterfall.

Read Albert's Nomination: Albert is the First Assistant Chief at Patterson Fire Department No.1 Inc. and has been actively volunteering with his fire department for almost 11 years now. He is an extremely dedicated team member and role model, an experienced educator, someone who jumps at the opportunity to help his community, and is a wonderful friend who you can always count on. Albert goes out of his way to help anyone in need and never asks for anything in return, he has proven himself to be an integral part of his firehouse and of the Patterson community with his dedication, kindness, and first-responder experience. Albert had an important role in helping to lead the rescue of the dog, Rudy, from the Quaker Brook waterfall in Patterson on Sunday, March 8th, and I believe that he, along with the amazing Patterson crew, should be recognized for their heroic work, volunteering their own time at all hours of the day. The photograph is of Albert Rossi teaching Fire Behavior to the members of Patterson Fire Department No.1 Inc.).
