Hyde Park’s Own Sergeant McGaw Joins The Wolf Den Of Heroes

It is time to reveal the Wolf Den of Heroes Inductee for February 2026. Each month, the Wolf looks forward to celebrating a first responder who serves our community. Selected from the nominations received each month, we are excited to honor this month's hero.

The Wolf has teamed up with Mid Hudson Pump and MHA of Dutchess County to select one of our area's first responders to be inducted into the Wolf Den of Heroes from among everyone who has been nominated to date. Sometimes, it is not just one person, but rather a whole team, that we put in the spotlight. This month, we will be honoring someone who is serving his community as a police officer.

Wolf Den Inducts Hyde Park Police Officer for February 2026

The Wolf Den of Heroes Inductee for February is a member of the Town of Hyde Park Police Department. Sergeant Christian McGaw was nominated by a fellow officer. His nomination included that Sergeant McGaw is also a United States Army Veteran.

In his time with the Hyde Park Police Department, he has held the roles of Patrolman, School Resource Officer, Detective, and is now a Patrol Sergeant. His nomination included these words of praise.

He is the kind of officer you can always call, no matter the time of day or night, knowing he will answer and step up without hesitation. He continually goes above and beyond, no matter how big or small the task, and leads by example for those around him.

Most recently, Sgt. McGaw and Officer Rodriguez made someone’s Christmas incredibly special by surprising him with a gaming keyboard. This selfless act of kindness gained statewide attention through the Town of Hyde Park’s social media, shining a light on the compassion and heart of Sgt. McGaw brings the badge every day.
