Have you ever had a wild life encounter while camping or at your house?

We got talking this morning about that 11 year old boy Elliot Clark, of Hoonah, Alaska who is now be hailed as a hero for saving his family from a bear attack.

According to CBS News, Elliot shot the brown bear dead as it was charging to attack his loved ones at a fishing hole. The bear knocked over one of the adults in the group, before jumping on top of Elliot's uncle.

Elliot's father, Lucas told CBS that "There was four of them in a line . My son was third, the bear came down the trail at them, fella in the front, who was his uncle, the bear was on him so quickly that he didn't have time to take his rifle off his shoulder."

The boy then raised his pump action shotgun and shot the bear, it took 3 shots to take the bear down and then finishing shots from the boy and his uncle.

Have you ever had a run in with a bear or anything like that while camping?

We had some great stories this morning with my favorite being from a lady who let us know that while her and her family were camping, she forgot to put the garbage into the truck and heard something outside of the tent and her dad went out to see a brown bear standing up on his hind legs. What did dad do? He ran out in his underwear banging canoe ores together and scared the bear away.
