Have you noticed Hudson Valley Starbucks locations serving their tasty hot beverages in green cups? Is this the new limited edition holiday cup?

Last year, Starbucks changed to a red cup for the holidays and it caused a pretty big uproar on social media. This week, Starbucks around the nation quietly rolled out green cups.

Is this the new holiday cup? Can we expect to have our beverages taste different because they are now in a green cup? What about the red? Do I need to plug into my social media accounts to find out how I need to feel about this?

The cup apparently is supposed to represent unity ahead of the upcoming election. If you look closely at the artwork you will see that the artist intertwined people to try and show them as a united community.

According to the CEO and Chariman of Starbucks (via press release on Starbucks.com) Howard Schultz, “The green cup and the design represent the connections Starbucks has as a community with its partners (employees) and customers. During a divisive time in our country, Starbucks wanted to create a symbol of unity as a reminder of our shared values, and the need to be good to each other."
