According to the data collected from an annual report by County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, Sullivan County remains one of New York state's least healthy counties.

Sullivan County scored low due to high numbers of of premature deaths, above average levels of adult smoking and obesity, and limited access to primary care physicians as compared to other counties in New York.

Over thirty factors are examined in the report. Everything from education, income, access to healthy foods, air and water quality, smoking rates, obesity, community safety and teen births are taken into account.

This probably isn't too surprising for the some residents of Sullivan County, as the report ranked the county second to last in 2015 as well. For the second year in a row, Bronx County ranked the lowest in the state.

Saratoga County finished at number one, up from third last year. Last year's top county, Rockland fell to #3.
