Ah yes, it's officially October. So talking about things like apple picking, pumpkin spice and Halloween is safe.

Of course here in the Hudson Valley we have some of the best places to go pumpkin and apple picking. However, the real question we need to be asking is, is the Hudson Valley home to the biggest pumpkin this season?

Unfortunately, the answer is no.

According to Time Magazine, Steve Geddes of Boscawen, New Hampshire is the man behind the biggest pumpkin in America in 2018. Geddes pumpkin weighed in at 2,528 pounds and won the man a $6,000 cash prize.

As for New York, well that honor went to Karl Haist from Clarence Center. News 10 is reporting that Haists' pumpkin weighed 2,027 pounds (a 501 pound difference than Geddes Pumpkin) at the World Pumpkin Weigh-off at the Great Pumpkin Farm.

Karl Haists' pumpkin broke the New York State record previously held by a pumpkin weighing in at 1,971.5 pounds last year.

Where have you seen the biggest pumpkin in the Hudson Valley?
