What’s The Most Expensive Concert Ticket You’ve Ever Bought?
Yes, I know inflation is affecting everything. But these concert ticket prices are getting out of hand.
There have been a handful of musical artist who have had their names splashed across the headlines (I'm looking at you BRUCE!) due to astronomical ticket prices. Country artist Morgan Wallen announced his Dangerous tour back in the beginning of 2022 and tickets went fast.
Wallen has made his way to the east coast this week and will be hitting the stage at the XFinity Theater in Hartford on Friday, August 19th. With that being said, I took a gander at ticket resale websites to see what tickets are currently going for.
Lawn seats for Wallen's Hartford show are going for...$350+ a piece! And that's for the lawn, which will most likely be packed. Pit, general admission, seats are going for a cool $3,200 each.
That's insane. I understand that a lot of these are resale tickets, but still. While most lawn seats are sold out Ticketmaster is selling actual seats for future shows for over $300.
I've been to my fair share of concerts and I've spent big bucks on really good seats to treat myself. I would say the most I've ever spent was recently $300 on Kenny Chesney VIP tickets. They were pit, general admission, standing room only seats, but they also came with Kenny Chesney merch (like a mug, flag, hat and bag).
What's the most you've ever spent on a concert? One of our listeners splurged for Morgan Wallen tickets for his show at MSG and wrote to us:
Spent almost $700 a ticket for 2nd row Morgan Wallen tickets at MSG and it was the most incredible show. Wouldn’t spend $3200 but would do it again a million times!!
It's always nice to treat yourself every once in a while, but lets hope this trend on skyrocketing concert ticket prices starts to trend downward. For our bank accounts sake.
