With Labor Day right around the corner and the Dutchess County Fair next week, take some time this weekend and spend it with your family and friends. Here's a few suggestions.
Saturday, August 22: 9-3. First Responder Memorial Car Show at New Hackensack Fire Department, 217 Myers Corners Rd. in Wappinger Falls. See vintage fire apparatus, police cars and ambulances. Plus. cars, trucks & motorcycles through 2001.
Sunday , August 23: 10-4. The 14th Annual Catskills Preservation & History Conference at the Liberty Museum and Art Center, 46 South Main Street in Liberty. Session topics will include 'Growing Up at the Delano Hotel: The Friendly Place for Friendly People', 'The Small, but important Hotels of the Catskills', Luncheon and Keynote Presentation: 'The Levbourne, the Aladdin, and Me', 'Small but Grand hotels! The backbone of the Catskills tourism economy', and more. The day will also feature “The Third Annual Catskill’s Preservation Award”- presented to Sharon Green with the official opening of the 'Small but Grand Hotels' Exhibit.
Saturday, August 22: 1-4. Vintage Fashion Show ann Dessert Gala , presented by the Shawangunk Garden Club. This one of a kind Vintage Fashion Show and Dessert Gala will be held at St. Mary's & St. Andrew's Catholic Church Parish Hall at 137 S. Main St.in Ellenville. Outfits from the late 1800's through the 80's will be modeled by the members. Enjoy many signature homemade desserts as well. Don't miss all the fun. Tickets are $10.
Sunday, August 23: 9-2. Monroe Park and Ride Farmer's Market. Shop for produce, baked goods, hand crafted soaps, sauces, wines and more. Held every Sunday until November.
