What’s Happening This Weekend in the Hudson Valley
Fall officially begins this weekend and that means new festivals and fairs, plus lots of autumn and harvest events going on throughout the Hudson Valley. Here are a few ideas with links to find more fun things to do this fall.
Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23; 10-5: The 49th Annual Gem, Mineral, Fossil, Jewelry Show and Sale hosted by the Mid-Hudson Valley Gem and Mineral Society at Gold's Gym on Titusville Road in Poughkeepsie. This year's theme is 'Fossils of New York'. Special features include an Earth Science Scavenger Hunt for High School Students, Free rocks for children at Glitter Mountain, Fossil displays, and more. Saturday, September 22; 12: Hobby Festival at Marbletown Community Center in Stone Ridge. You will walk into a place filled with tables and workshops and people who are excited to share their hobby passions with you. Come learn something new, try something and then move onto something new. Some of the hobbies include printmaking, bookbinding, knitting, improv, meditation, journaling, and more. Saturday, September 22; 1-2: Bee Keeper Tours at Storm King Art Center. Tours will be lead by a local beekeeper at the apiary at Storm King.
