What’s Happening This Weekend in the Hudson Valley
The first day of school is only a few weeks away. Don't let the summer pass you by without exploring some of the many events going on throughout the Hudson Valley.
Saturday, August 15: 9:30-11:30 am. Community Photography Workshop/Photo Stroll. Enjoy a scenic and enlightening photographic stroll on the grounds of the Vanderbilt Mansion. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer, you’ll walk away with awesome photographs and a better understanding of your park. Free and open to all, advanced registration is not required, meet at the main parking lot at Vanderbilt mansion.
Friday, August 14-Sunday, August 16 until 4:20 pm. Yasgur Road Reunion. 3 days of bands and fun to be held rain, shine or mud commemorating the 46th Anniversary of the original Woodstock Music & Arts Festival at Max Yasgur’s 100+ acre homestead. Gates open at 4:20 a.m. on August 14. Tents down at 4:20 p.m. on August 16. No glass, pets, firecrackers or weapons.
Saturday, August 15: 10-5: 31st annual Antique and Classic Boat Show & Parade at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, 50 Rondout Landing in Kingston. Parade at 4:00 pm weather permitting, cast your vote for a favorite boat! Visit the museum, see the boats, watch the race, have a snack or dinner on the Rondout. Free admission for children with paid adult admission to the museum, plus kids can do the free scavenger hunt too!
Saturday, August 15: 7:30-9:30 pm. Music Under the Stars-Red, White, and Country. The West Point Band will be joined by members of the USMA staff and faculty in a collaborative display of this great American genre of music, featuring many of the great songs from country artists from the last 60 years. Bring your family and friends, a picnic and blanket to this performance that is free and open to the public. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will take place at Eisenhower Hall Ballroom.
