Happy Valentine's Day weekend. There's many fun events this weekend throughout the Hudson Valley that you can do with those you love. Here's a few of them.

 

Saturday, February 14: 12-3.First Annual Winter Jamboree at Stony Kill Farm, 79 Farmstead Lane in Wappingers Falls. Warm up in the Greenhouse and buy some beautiful flowering house plants for your loved ones.  The barn will be open for visits with the farm animals and they would love to see you on this special day.  Cozy up by the fire circle while sipping on hot chocolate and enjoying some home baked cookies.  Enjoy a guided winter walk on the trails.  Look for birds as part of the Great Backyard Bird Count. Weather permitting, there will be a snowman building contest - be sure to bring items to decorate them, and snow shoes will be available to rent - $2.50 per pair, adults and children.  Don't forget to bring your sled!

Saturday, February 14: 2:00 Enjoy live music and close encounters with Eagles & Winter Raptors at Tusten Theatre, 210 Bridge St. in Narrowsburg. Join the Delaware Highlands Conservancy for live Americana music and a live Birds of Prey presentation from Bill Streeter of the Delaware Valley Raptor Center. Local band Little Sparrow will take the stage at 2pm. At 3:30 pm, enjoy “Close Encounters with Eagles and Winter Raptors,” and experience the majesty of hawks, falcons, owls, and eagles up close.

Saturday, February 14: 8:00-10:00 Valentine's Day dance with Soul Purpose. Unison Arts Center will host a special Valentine's Day dance, featuring the music of Soul Purpose. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. Soul Purpose, which has a large following around the Hudson Valley, prides itself on playing a blend of soul, blues, swing, Motown and Jazz. Their goal is to get everybody on the dance floor, dancing to their heart's content. Soul Purpose is Lori Morris, Rich DeCrosta, Linda Richards, Robert Gerhards, James Prosser, Steve Turowski and Frances Ralston.

Saturday, February 14: 10-4. President's Weekend  Activities. The New Windsor Cantonment has a full schedule of activities on Saturday, February 14 and Monday, February 16. Soldiers will bring to life the Continental Army's final winter encampment with musket and cannon firings, blacksmithing, medical demonstrations, and other aspects of daily life. At 11am, 1:30am and 3:30pm there will be musket and cannon firings. Following these firings, children may "enlist" in the Continental Army, drill with wooden muskets and get paid in Continental currency for their service. For more information, call 845-561-1765 x22.
